Swim, fish or boat (electric motors only) in the fresh, clear waters of 56-acre Signalness Lake. Canoe and kayak rentals are available There are 16 miles of hiking trails to use and if you want do a little bike riding you can use the newly upgraded Glacial Ridge Bike Trail from Starbuck, MN to Glacial Lakes State Park. The park has great camping and swimming and six camper cabins for rent - four have electricity.

Glacial Lakes Astronomers and Stargazers Society (GLASS) will host a series of stargazing events at the park starting in April and running untill September .

Geocaching

Geocaching

Starting in May and running untill September this event is on going in all of Minnesota's State Parks. Ask your park manager for more informaion.


 
Camping

Glacial Lakes Start Park has a large variety of camping experiences which are described and illustrated on our camping page.


 
Fishing

Fishing in the park is free and you do not need a state fishing licence to fish

Mountain Lake has a wide variety of fish. Walleye, Northern, and pan fish are stocked

Kettle Lake has pan fish.

Baby Lake has Walleye and pan fish.


 
Horseback Riding

Glacial Lakes State Park has over 14 miles of horse trails to ride and sightsee. The park is planning to add several more miles of trail in the near future.


 
Bird Watching

Bird watching is a year round enjoyment at Glacial Lakes State Park. A great variety of birds can be found here from the lowly sparrow to the might bald eagle.

Hiking

Hiking has always been a part of the park system and Glacial Lakes has over 16 miles of hiking trails to use for short or long hikes.

DNR Naturalist Programs

Since 2010 the park has shared a naturalist with Lake Carlos State Park. The naturalist will be presenting a number of programs and the various geographic, fawna and fona of the park

Canoe, Paddleboarding and Kayaking

Canoe and Kayaks are available for rent at the park. Canoes have an electric motor that can be used if desired.

Paddleboarding is now available for rent at the park. It is a great experience if you haven't tried it you should.


 
Swimming

Glacial Lakes State Park has an excellent sandy beach that can be enjoyed by young and old alike. The water is clear and clean and of lake itch
