Cross Country Ski Lesson

Saturday, January 1st 2011 - In The Park

Try an easy course with instructors to help you get started!!

Meet at the Group Camp to start, and end up at hte Esker Cabin for hot cider.

Round trip will be 2.3 miles. A limited amount of rental equipment is available. Please call the park office to register, as space is limited to the first ten people

I Can Camp

Want to go on a camping trip with your family, but aren't sure you really know how? Attend an I Can Camp! overnight workshop offered at Minnesota State Parks this summer and get ready to rough it!

No Experience Necessary!

Our trained crew will be on hand to ensure your whole family has a safe and fun adventure. There will be lots of outdoor activities for kids and adults, from nature walks and wildlife watching to fishing and geocaching. You'll get hands-on experience with lots of basic outdoor skills, including:

* How to set up camp and tents

* Fire starting

* Outdoor cooking with fun recipes

I Can Fish

Want to take your family fishing, but aren't sure you really know how? Attend a free I Can Fish! hands-on workshop offered at Minnesota state parks this summer. Just show up and learn the basics of how to cast, tie a knot, and catch fish. New topics will be covered each week. No experience necessary! Equipment and bait are provided. Maybe you'd like help introducing your kids to fishing, or perhaps you just want to hone your own skills with an 'expert' nearby. Participants mostly just fish, but trained MinnAqua Nature Corps staff and seasoned fishing mentors will be on hand to share angler memories and offer helpful tips, encouragement, and interesting facts about aquatic insects, fish, and more.Questions? Easter Ege Hunt - 2010

Saturday, April 3rd - Easter Egg Hunt In The Park
This event will start at 1:30 pm for kids of pre-school age to 6th grade
Children will be separated into three age groups. Some eggs will have tickets for special prizes. After the festivities a bonfire and refreshments will be served by the Friends of Glacial Lakes group.
Park permits are required to attend this event

Stargazing

Glacial Lakes Astronomers and Stargazers Society (GLASS) will host a series of stargazing events at the park this summer.

Starting in May and running untill September these events will be scheduled for the 3rd Saturday of each month. Beginning at dusk and ending a few hours later. All interested people are to meet in the horse camp area
