State Parks Open House
Saturday, June 11th
From 11:00 am to 2:00
pm
On this day, all state parks are open to the
public without charge
The Friends of Glacial Lakes State Park will be serving
Hotdogs and a beverage to visitors in the park from 12 noon to 2 :00 pm
The Friends of Glacial Lakes State Park also have
planned a treasure hunt for the children
Tours will also be organized for those who would like to
see the major features of Glacial Lakes State Park. The tour will start at
12:30 pm

Cross Country Ski Lesson
Sunday, February 13th - In The Park
Begins at 10:00 am
Try an easy course with instructors to help you get
started!!
Meet at the Group Camp to start, and end up at hte Esker Cabin
for hot cider.
Round trip will be 2.3 miles. A limited amount of rental
equipment is available. Please call the park office to register, as space is
limited to the first ten people

Snowshoe To The Peak
Friday, February 11th 2011 - Begins In The Park at 12:00 pm and
runs until 4:00 pm
Are you ready for a showshoe adventure??
Meet us at the Group Camp for this 2 mile (3hr) hike to the highest
point in Glacial Lakes State Park.
Not recommended for young children.
Rental of snowshoes will be available for $6 per day.
Please call the park office to reserve the correct
sizes. (320-239-2860)

Scent Tracking Demostration
Saturday, January 29th 2011 - In The Park
Program starts at 10:00 am
Learn how coyotes seek food in this fun and informative
game!
Use your sense of smell to identify and track your prey.
This fun adaptation of hide-and-seek starts in the
Group Camp. And it
promises to be perfect for families with elementary school aged
children

Stargazing - 2011
2010 Photos
Glacial Lakes Astronomers and Stargazers
Society (GLASS) will host a series of stargazing events
at the park this summer.
Starting in April and running untill late Fall these
events will be scheduled for the 1st Saturday of each month (weather
permitting). Beginning at dusk and ending a few hours later. All interested
people are to meet in the horse camp area approximate times are listed
below.
